Things kids do you'll miss the most (001)

Simple words

My 3 year old loves dinosaurs. When he first started talking, he couldn't say dinosaurs. So he called them "dines." It was so cute and I loved it. Now, he picks up his dinosaur and says, "look, Mommy, a dinosaur!" First time I heard him say the full word, I wanted to cry. I even asked him about his "dine." But, "no, Mommy, it dinosaur." I died a little inside that day.

That's My Boy :: 001

So my older son has started playing hide & seek. Something he loves now and wants to do all the time! When he plays, Chris will run - as if he's going to hide - but then when you finish counting, he runs at you with the look he has in the pic and gets all excited thinking he won, haha.

Now when Joey counts, I try to get Chris to hide with me. But he won't. Instead, he stands by his brother with his little hands on his cheeks and goes, "ya... ya... ya..." trying to count with him.Yep... that's my boy, haha. It's cute he tries so hard to be like his brother.

Park Fun // That's My Son :: 002

So the boys got bored being in the house, so we went to the park around 4 PM. No other kids were there, so it was nice I didn't have to worry about a bigger kid bumping into mine, haha. They had a lot of fun... for the 20 minutes with stayed there. Next thing I know, my boys are heading for the car. Joey then says to me, "it too hot... I want cold drink." I was glad to be leaving since it's so hot and also laughing over him. That's my son!

Joey is always doing something to make me laugh. I need to start writing them done so I won't forget, and then get them posted on here. He loves to make us laugh. And he has Chris following right in his footsteps doing the same.

Embarrassing moment (I Did That :: 001) - and cookies!

Ever have one of those moments you want to hide in shame?
I did today.
I had to get milk and a few other things, so I took Little Man with me. We did our shopping, acted goofy, and laughed. We get to check-out, and he says he lets me know he needs to go potty. I looked at him, "Ok, we're almost done here, then we'll go to the bathroom, ok?" He agrees and waits. We finish up, and I rush over to the bathrooms with him so he won't end up peeing in his pants. I park the cart right by the bathroom and go inside. As soon I we walk into, I notice something doesn't feel right. I look up and right there is a grown man standing, using the bathroom. I pull Little Man back and say, "I think we're in the wrong one..." As we're walking out, I look at the sign - which I could have sworn said WOMEN - that says MEN. I say, "Crap! We did go in the wrong one! Oh my gosh!" As I say that, I'm turning my focus back to in front of me, when I suddenly jump because of a huge tall guy standing in front of me, laughing and smiling. Then he says, "And here I thought I was going in the wrong one!" I turned like 10 shades of red, which made him laugh even more! Oh my gosh, I was so embarrassed, I wanted to throw a bag over my head! What a trip.

So to make up a crazy trip to the store, Little Man and I made cookies! No, not homemade. That's one homemade I can not do. I can never made good homemade cookies. Or make the ones where you add the ingredients to it. Only kind I can make decent cookies out of, are the ones already premade - just cut and back. I wish I could make homemade cookies. But I just can't. So anyways... here's pictures of the cookies and Little Man enjoying them.

And to make things even, here's Baby Boy!

Kids :: gotta love 'em!

Boys Will Be Boys

Two boys, for me, has brought new meaning to the term double trouble. Sure, they look sweet in the photos... but they do get wild! Now that baby boy is getting bigger and older, they are starting to play more together. But that also means, they fight some now, too.

We got them both a new toy the other day. Little man found the baby's new toy and started playing with it. Ok, no problem... until baby boy notices. Then he's screaming because he wants his toy. So I break it up and remind little man he has a new toy, also. Everything should be great now, right? Haha, no! Baby boy then wants his big brother's new toy, so they start to fight over it. A 3 year old and a 10 month old... fighting over toys. What will I do when they get older? When they  become teens? Oh geez. I'm trying hard to help teach them now to share. For the baby, it's a bit hard... but little man is starting to get the idea and has been doing a bit better on sharing. But he has some toys that are special to him he refuses to share, so I tell him to keep them in his room so the baby can't get them.

Sometimes I wonder... if I had gotten a girl like I wanted when I first realized I was pregnant with #2, would it be different? My brother and I are the same age difference as my boys... we never had this problem. But maybe because it was a boy/girl, whereas these are boy/boy.

Anyways... I love my boys. I'll take, and handle, whatever they throw at me. :)

A few times I've gone out, I've had ladies ask me a question that I don't see how they could even think would be true: "are your boys twins?" I can't help but look at the tall boy standing next to me and the chubby baby in the stroller before looking back at them confused if they are talking to someone behind me. After confirming no one is behind me, I realize they are speaking to me. I smile nicely and say no. I just find it funny. I don't see how anyone could look at them and ask that. But then again, I'm not a stranger seeing them for the first time... so maybe? I don't know.

Kid Stuff (#1)

An empty box of diapers can be useful? My little man figured out how. He emptied the box, then asked me to put his baby brother in it. So I did, and then he climbs in the box, too. As you can tell, baby boy was loving it. So is the little man, but couldn't catch his smile fast enough.

I've been wanting to get some kind of pet for my little man, since my husband won't let us have a dog or cat (he doesn't like animals, even though I come from a family were we adore our pets more than most people, haha). So I figured, why not a fish? With a fish, I won't have to worry about it getting lost in the house or biting one of the boys. So Saturday night, we went and got him a betta fish, and he loves it! We still haven't figured out a name yet. Trying to come up with something easy, and from a cartoon or movie he loves. We'll see. But he's a pretty fish; black and blue, but two front fins are red. PetSmart has them on sale for $1.99. Not bad.

What was your first pet?
My parents got a dog - a chow - when I was 4 years old. So he was my first pet. Wonderful dog. He died back in 1999. My latest pet was a beagle, but she died earlier this year. In between them, I've had fish, hamsters, and chinchillas. And my family has a cats. I would like to have a dog again, but then again, I don't. I don't want to deal with the loss. It hurts me too much.

Almost midnight?!

So that's what I see right now. Almost midnight, and both boys are refusing to sleep. Even if it means hiding under the table from Mommy. Days like this, make me miss being a kid myself - no responsibility! It also makes me feel more respect for my mother, since she dealt with 3 kids under the age of 4.

I asked my little man if he's ready to go to bed, and he said, "nahh." I try to put baby boy to bed, and he screams to the point of coughing like crazy until I get him out. Thankfully, Daddy doesn't work tomorrow. They had been going to bed between 9-9:30, but tonight? Ha! Yeah, right. It's like they both decided this: "Hey man, let's see how long we can keep Mommy and Daddy up before they pass out." It really wouldn't surprise me one bit. My boys are that crazy.

Alright, baby boy is yawning... let's see if we can make this happen. Night all!

Fireworks! Boom!

Anyone go see some fireworks last night? We - hubby, both boys, mother-in-law, and I - went to The Woodlands yesterday to watch them. We got over there around 7 and hadn't had dinner yet, so we went into the mall to eat. Everything but Great Wraps was closed. We ate, and Joey played around some, then outside to watch. We thought about getting close, but saw others watching from the mall parking lot. I asked them if it was a good view, and they said yes. So we just stayed by the car to watch inside of dealing with the huge crowd closer to the show. My brother-in-law and nephew showed up right before the show started. Both boys enjoyed it a lot. I'm surprised Chris didn't cry over the noise. It was nice, and the weather wasn't too bad, thank goodness.

I took these with my iPod touch.

Long time, no see!

It's been a few months, I know. I've been busy with both boys. I have new recipes to post, which I will get to very soon. We'll see if I can get back into the swing of things. Just love enjoying being with my boys!

Also, if anyone knows of blogs from people in North Houston that are able to "extreme coupon", please send them my way! Every store I call, say they don't double coupons or anything. So my question is: how do people in Houston do it? Any help would be appreciated!

Wow, it's been awhile!

First off, I had my baby boy!
Christopher Ray
09/26/11 at 11:18 AM
8 lbs. 5 oz. - 18 1/4 in.

This was just the other day.

All is doing good. He looks just like his big brother, and Joey loves him!

Anyways... I'm going to try getting back into this now. I'm also going to start doing some crafts like I've been wanting to start up again for awhile. I'm also planning to get back into trying new recipes again. So hopefully I'll have things to update about so this blog can keep going.

So, with that said, I'll end this post and be back tomorrow!

Sorry!

My apologizes for not blogging in awhile. Things have been... hard. This pregnancy has been going ok other than lots of pain. My doctor was worried about preterm labor, but some tests say we're in the clear for now, thank goodness. I'll be so glad when this is over and my boy is here. I'm not allowed to do hardly anything. So I mostly sit around and when Joey naps, I try to nap. It's been rough, but I think we'll be ok.

I'll try to get back into the swing of things soon.

Many apologizes!

Forgive me for not updating lately. I don't think anyone reads this enough to miss it anyways, haha. It's been a rough few weeks, some which I will not go into. The baby bump gives me some trouble now and then. Heartburn is constant now, the cramps come and go, and I'm pretty sure I've been having some strong braxton hicks contractions. I never had them with Joey, so it's new to me.

I've been taking Joey to Toddler Time at the library. First time, he slept through it... Second time, he was very social! He's usually very shy, but loved being around so many kids. I'm hoping it helps open him up more.

Tomorrow is the big day! We will find out if baby #2 is a boy or girl! I'm hoping a girl. It would complete our family, plus I want to get my tubes tied and call it quits. My mom feels it's a girl. She was right about Joey being a boy, being born on June 27, and being over 9 pounds. So I'm hoping her gut is right this time too, haha. Plus, with Joey, I did everything the same as my mom when she was pregnant with her first; my brother. And now this one is being the same so far time wise. I'm the second child, and 2 years and 3 months younger than my brother. This baby, will be 2 years and 3 months younger than Joey. It just seems too weird. So if it's a boy, that'll be the one thing that throws the weirdness off track.

I'll try to get back into the swing of updating. I've been trying to find more people to meet but hardly no one responds to me. I don't know how others do it. I guess I have social problems online just as I do offline, lol.

What a night...

Needless to say, I got little sleep last night. Joey decided to wake up around 2 AM and not go back to sleep. Since Sergio had to get up early this morning and work a full day, I got up with him. I tried getting him back to sleep after an hour, but didn't work. I lifted him more than I should have because I started cramping which made me "hug" my toilet some. I laid on the couch as he played with his cars. Finally, around almost 5 AM, he was ready to go back to bed. It's bad enough I have trouble sleeping as it is... then add Joey and being pregnant... not a good mix, haha.

Today, I've been trying to take it easy. Slowly cleaning my kitchen, constantly picking up toys, and resting so the cramps don't get too worse. I'll be glad to get to bed tonight and hope Joey does better.

Tomorrow, is Story Time at our library. I've been wanting to go anyways to check out some books for myself (haven't been there yet), so I figured I might as well try and see how Joey likes the Story Time. I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow as well. Sergio goes to work at 5 PM, so he'll be home to help out with Joey.

I want to try updating/finishing my personal site, so I might try doing that some tomorrow when Joey naps.

My baby... almost 2 years old? Is that possible?

Next week, will make my little man 22 months old. Exactly 2 months away from being a full 2 year old. Two whole fingers. I still can't process it through my mind. My boy... my sweet little baby boy... 2 years old? It just can't be. It honestly feels like he was just born yesterday. Yesterday... like I just held him for the first time, telling him how handsome he is, how much I love him and can't wait to take him home and be the best mommy I can be. I feel like I blinked and suddenly he's becoming independent, not needing me. I tell him all the time, "you might feel like you won't need me when you get older, but know that if you do, I'm always here." He just looks at me with that breathtaking smile that melts my heart. Our time together is so precious, and in a way, I'm sad that another baby is coming and will cut into our time. But whenever this baby gives me a minute break, that break will go to my little man.
Joey, I hope you always remember that no one will never take your place in my heart. Part of my heart will always belong to you. I changed my life for you. I don't regret it. You were the best change that has ever happened to me. You make me stronger each day. I love you more and more every day. Tomorrow, I'll love you more than today. I'll always be on your side, no matter what. You'll always have my love. No one, or anything, will take that from you. I promise you that. Forever and ever, I love you.
Before I know it, he'll be in school and realize it's uncool to cuddle/kiss/hug your mom. So you can bet, that I'm soaking up every second that he let's me cuddle him like a baby, give each other kisses, and all the hugs he wants to give me or let's me give. You can bet, I'm not wasting these precious times. And yes, it may look like I'm wasting them right now but updating but he's napping, haha. So I'm helping time pass until he wakes up and we're back to enjoying each other.

check-up and more

So tomorrow makes 16 weeks along. Thursday (14th) I had a check-up, and thankfully, all is well with the baby. I was getting worried because I began having cramps. Tuesday (12th), they got so bad that I ended up in bed all day (minus the time spent "hugging" my toilet). I hadn't felt the baby in awhile before my appointment, and even though I figured all was ok, there was still that 'what if' feeling. The doctor told me as long as I don't see blood, we're ok. But she said I need to rest more, stop lifting Joey so much, and take it easy. So I'm trying to do that. She told me that once I reach 20 weeks and if the cramps are still there, then we need to worry. She had a hard time finding the baby's heartbeat which scared me even more until she finally found it. My mom is planning to come out in a few weeks after they get moved and settled into the new house to help out with Joey and the housework. My next appointment is May 12th. But on May 5th, we find out if it's a girl or boy!!! I'll be happy either way, but I do want a girl. With a girl, I can get my tubes tied and quit having kids, haha.

Joey's been doing great. He's taking shorter naps now. Somedays, he won't even nap. He still have trouble with nightmares though. I wish they would go away. I hate seeing him waking up scared to death and afraid to open his eyes. Takes us at least 30 minutes to make him realize it's ok and for him to calm down when he has them. He had one last night, so I held him on my lap, letting me cuddle him while I sang  all the songs I sang to him while he was inside me and after he was born. He fell asleep on me and I was loving every minute. Even with my back hurting and him sweating on me, I wouldn't trade those moments for anything.

For the past 3 weeks, Sergio's been saying they (he and his brothers) were going to clean out the pool and get it ready. I'm still waiting! I want to go swimming! I wish we were able to get a pool, just a blow up thing like we had last year, for here at our house. Then Joey and I could swim anytime we wanted. I keep trying to talk Sergio into that, cause Big Lots has one (a 12' 30', not very big but enough to cool off and have fun... the one we had last year was much bigger) for 67 dollars. But he hasn't agreed yet, haha.

Anyways... I'll try to update some more later. Going to lay down on the couch a bit. Not feeling well.
